About me
I was born Brigitte Vaders, and it is only by marriage in 1970 to
Uwe Finkbeiner that I became a member of the clan. Uwe is Guenter's brother - no wonder, then, that I got involved in the preparations for the trip to the
Second International Finkbeiner Reunion at Crediton, Ontario, in October 1997. Günter asked me to help out with the language, to translate messages from German into English and vice versa.
I know English quite well, have read and spoken it since high school, spent a year at
Vassar College, New York. as a young student, taught it at university and by and by took a doctorate in American literature. However, I had not been back to North America, because I preferred to accompany my husband to "his" part of the world as an archeologist of the Near East.

I am mainly interested in the
